“Heartland Sessions” from Op Shop & Luke Thompson
In June and July of this year Op Shop went on their grand “Big Energy in a Can” national tour with Luke Thompson, hitting 18 centres around the country. The guys gave themselves the challenge of writing a song about every town they visited. “The only rules were that the song had to be written the day of the show and it had to be played that night during the encore,” Op Shop writes on their website. “In early September we invited Luke Thompson to join us in the studio to capture the songs in the spirit with which they were originally written.” You can now download the tunes for free from opshopmusic.com.
